The Sales and Marketing department guides the Consultants to success by creating and providing promotional material, training, catalogues, recipes, recognition events, and call center support.  Our Innovation, Research + Development Team creates new products and continually fine tunes our formulas for maximum taste and quality. 

Our innovative Technology Team is focused to enhance and upgrade our systems and processes for ease of operation, communication and reporting.

Our Finance and Support Teams ensures that the “beans” are counted properly and we are poised to support both our Home Team Members and our Consultants in the best way possible.

Digital Marketing Manager

Epicure’s Digital Marketing Manager will collaborate with stakeholders to create a best in class digital marketing strategy while collaborating with a creative and skilled team to implement an engaging and consistent user experience at all points.  The Digital Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, tracking and optimizing our digital marketing campaigns across relevant channels.  This role will also measure key marketing programs, will be key in building strategic plans, improving process and procedures during high periods of high growth, increasing online sales and database growth and meeting KPIs.

QA Assistant

Working within the Quality Assurance department, the QA Assistant would be responsible for ingredient and cookware sampling, preliminary laboratory testing, checking documentation for accuracy and completeness to help the release of ingredients, cookware, product labels and finished products. The role will also include floor walk through for GMP inspections as well as spot line audits to  ensure adherence to in-house quality management system and guidelines.

Sourcing Specialist 

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Sourcing Specialist is responsible for developing and managing supplier relationships to ensure positive working relationships and effective delivery of contracted products and services.

As well, you will evaluate supplier performance, including quality, cost, supply, capacities, systems and responsiveness as per on-going business management of the products, leases, licenses and/or services contracted by the suppliers – in addition to ensuring portfolio related services are delivered in a timely manner, meeting objectives and quality expectations.

Online Community Coordinator

Epicure is looking for a dynamic independent person to serve as our Online Community Coordinator. This critical role will support our Epicure community by moderating several active online groups. The right person for this role is both a planner and a doer, and someone who can thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial team.

The Community Coordinator will be responsible for supporting our community on social networks including Facebook. Working with the Social Media Manager you will actively engage with our community of Consultants and Customers to answer questions and provide support while helping build the Epicure brand.

Experience in coordinating strategic online communications through social media platforms, is critical. FULL DESCRIPTIONS

 

Facilities & Maintenance Manager

The Facilities & Maintenance Manager reports directly to the Director of Operations and has significant interactions with all other members of the management team.Key areas of interest include Equipment Maintenance, Staffing and Departmental Systems Maintenance, Equipment Performance and Plant Capability, Facility Maintenance as well as Compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Equipment Maintenance

  • Initiates, implements, and manages the plant maintenance and Janitorial/sanitation program based on best practices in the Food industry, with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventive/predictive maintenance.

Maintenance Departmental Systems

  • Ensures systems are in place to monitor the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment. 
  • Maintains and repairs maintenance shop equipment.
  • Establishes and maintains a computerized maintenance management system for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment. 

Maintenance Staffing

  • In conjunction with Maintenance Supervisor, oversees activity of plant maintenance and sanitation personnel. 
  • Ensures that maintenance staff are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner. 
  • Communicates regularly with all maintenance staff, both individually and as a group, to ensure good two-way communication concerning maintenance issues. 
  • Assists with hiring of maintenance personnel. 
  • Conducts employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge, and contribution of the maintenance technicians. 
  • Maintains and updates operating and training manuals for the maintenance department.
  • Ensures that all maintenance technicians are trained on the most updated version of the operating procedures. 

Equipment Performance and Plant Capability

  • Monitors operation of plant equipment and systems.
  • Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepares reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems. 
  • Initiates and carries out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
  • Tracks, analyzes and improves key maintenance parameters such as utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, etc.

Internal/External Facility Maintenance

  • Ensures city, regional, and provincial regulations relating to the facility are met at all times.
  • Liaises with External Contractors to provide facility maintenance activities such as year-round grounds keeping, annual HVAC maintenance, roof inspection and repairs, etc.
  • Leads the planning and implementation of plant improvements and expansions.
  • Drives start up efforts for new equipment installation or facility expansion: therefore, participate in staffing effort, lead spare part procurement effort, lead maintenance training effort, identify/secure critical supply and service agreements, lead the maintenance group during commissioning of the facility or equipment etc.

Coordination and Compliance

  • Communicates directly with the operations department to coordinate maintenance and repair work in process areas.
  • Implements programs and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness.
  • Communicates directly with QC/QA to ensure effective participation by the maintenance technicians and sanitation staff in the implementation of QA policies and procedures.

Education & Experience:

  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering, or other appropriate discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices as they relate to manufacturing and packaging of functional foods.
  • Excellent organization, planning, leadership, communication, human resources, administration, and budgeting skills.
  • Demonstrated aptitude, demeanour, and experience within a custom manufacturing environment producing complex products with many inputs and employing complex and challenging manufacturing processes, to manage a Plant Engineering & Maintenance Department.
  • Demonstrated aptitude with manufacturing resource planning software, Excel, and Word.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing dry dosage forms (including blending and powder filling) and packaging is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports our customer RFQ process by serving as the point of contact for populating RFQ templates with price, MOQ, EOQ and volume assumptions. Ensures cost component models are received for commodity based materials.
  • Partners closely with procurement leaders, ensuring purchasing needs are met when negotiating terms with suppliers.
  • Drafts accurate Requests for Information and RFP's in accordance with RFI's policies and procedures.
  • Analyzes bids and proposals for content and price, negotiates contract terms and recommends supplier award.
  • Ensures all bids clearly identify expectations that support compliance with all food regulatory bodies, including FSMA.
  • Tracks all key dates related to supply and rate agreements and reports needed areas of attention.
  • Provides visibility to and maintains a sourcing calendar that identifies new bid timing by spend pool.
  • Researches and interprets contract provisions, including contract processes, penalties and compliance terms.
  • Ensures that the deliverable goods and services meet RFI needs and requirements by assisting the requesting department with development of specifications and scope of work.
  • Resolves all contract discrepancies.
  • Generates accurate and timely reports and drafts agenda items for management and other stakeholders
  • Provides continuous effort to improve procurement operations, streamline work processes and work cooperatively and jointly with others to provide quality customer service.
  • Maintain strong working relationships and communications directly with suppliers.
  • Monitors contract balances to ensure that RFI follows the contract terms.
  • Ensure that all goods and services are acquired in accordance with RFI’s current purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Develop SOP in accordance with internal controls, as defined by Corporate Controller.

Key Education and Expereince:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of applicable experience with progressive responsibilities in a food manufacturing environment with experience in purchasing and/or sourcing.
  • Good working knowledge and experience with MRP/ERP systems is essential.
  • APICS; CPM/CPIM /CSCP a plus.
  • Knowledge of current supply chain management techniques and processes in the food production industry.
  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, communication, and networking skills are required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.

QA Assistant

Working within the Quality Assurance department, the QA Assistant would be responsible for ingredient and cookware sampling, preliminary laboratory testing, checking documentation for accuracy and completeness to help the release of ingredients, cookware, product labels and finished products. The role will also include floor walk through for GMP inspections as well as spot line audits to  ensure adherence to in-house quality management system and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Raw material and cookware receipt and release
  • Maintaining up to date specifications, and raw material standard samples
  • QC lab testing: gluten, dairy allergen and environmental swabbing for salmonella
  • QC sampling activities: dairy allergen and environmental swabbing for salmonella in Production rooms
  • Conduct Production floor walk throughs
  • Review batch tickets and release if approved
  • Assist in NCMR quarantining and root cause investigations
  • Conduct spot audits of various areas of Production, Warehouse and the Distribution Center
  • Reliance document review and updating CRM, FP specifications and AQL’s
  • Complete hard copy record filing, sorting and discards
  • Be an engaged and effective member of Epicure's Quality Assurance team
  • Learning and follow safe work procedures and report any potential work related hazards to JHSC (Joint Health & Safety Committee)

Education and Experience Required:

  • High School / College Diploma or equivalent in scientific or technical discipline
  • Previous experience with QA sampling and testing
  • Familiarity with a formal Quality Management System (ISO, FSSC, BRC, SQF)
  • Attention to detail, along with strong analytical and decision making skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task with competing priorities and deadlines
